Earlier this week, I came across an article published in The Sydney Morning Herald that really took me aback.
The article explores the cycle of negativity in Aboriginal communities. While a reader may feel as though the article aims to highlight the suffering taking place within these communities, as someone who has spent so much time with indigenous people, the article really saddened me.
Let’s face it: you can’t turn on the TV or land on a website these days without another shocking story about domestic violence hitting you.
I read a Women’s Agenda article recently that stated that at current levels of government funding, almost 3,000 women trying to flee domestic violence will have to be turned away from homelessness services this year.
If you watched that video right through, you’ve watched just under 20 minutes of something special… Something you can’t buy or bottle: Passion.
And while Annalise Jennings, the Director of Dynamic Exchange, won’t be winning an Emmy Award or raking in more hits than a video featuring a Hollywood celebrity, she deserves to stand in the spotlight for her contribution to the world.
