Movements that would be impossible for you or I are executed flawlessly under the balance, direction and devoted skill of artists who spend endless hours honing their craft. It never fails to leave me wondering how I might be able to take my own performance to a new level.

Sometimes your work can lead you to the most inspiring places and people. For Dynamic Exchange director Annalise Jennings, the far north Queensland community of Napranum is one of those places, and Maryann Coconut is one of those people.
Annalise began working in Napranum in 2011, when the council engaged her to help establish a visionary plan by and for the people.

Politically, it’s been a hectic few weeks for Australia with Tony Abbott being forced to make way for our new leader, Malcolm Turnbull. To date, we’re seeing some really encouraging signs from our new Prime Minister, particularly in relation to the $40 million plus package fighting domestic violence (you can read the Australian Financial Review article focusing on this here).

Last week,members of the Paroo Shirecommunity came together to participate in a three-day Leaders’ Collaboration Workshop with the overall aim of overcoming a cycle of disadvantage that has undermined their south-west Queensland region.
Held in Cunnamulla’s Town Hall, the workshop kicked off with an Aboriginal smoking ceremony and a welcome to country – tributes to the region’s proud Aboriginal heritage.
